BECOME AN UMPIRE

The Chartiers Valley Umpires Association provides umpiring for Southwestern Pennsylvania and parts of West Virginia, covering age 7 to adult leagues. If you're new to umpiring, you will see action in live games with experienced umpires in the area as you learn the ropes. If you are interested in umpiring high-school baseball or softball, we can point you in the right direction, as well.

The biggest hurdle to overcome for a new umpire is the initial cost of equipment. WE CAN HELP YOU OUT! Our current umpires have donated sets of equipment, along with clothes, hats, and shoes of varying sizes. These are provided to new umpires on a first-come, first-serve basis. After your first year, the equipment goes back into the "locker" for the next class of umpires to use.
