RULES RESOURCE

The objective of the CVUA Rules Resource is to curate all pertinent rules pertaining to the most common situations and plays. A simple copy-and-paste of the entire book onto a blue-and-gray website would not help anyone digest and understand the most crucial elements of baseball rules. The OBR rulebook has important rules littered all over the place, and it can be frustrating to organize it all in your head, so if you see RULE numbers out of order in a section, this is an intentional editorial decision on our part in attempting to present the rules in the most logical way. Browsing our Rules Resource is an informative and educational starting point for young and inexperienced umpires, but we strongly recommended you read the entire rulebook.

NOTE: Appeal Plays, Balks, Obstruction, and Offensive Interference are the four really in-depth pages on this Rules Resource (because they have to be). If you're new to umpiring, we suggest saving those until the end.
